ST. MAARTEN

HERE WE COME!

After much anticipation, the day finally came when Karl & I left for our week-long vacation to sunny St. Maarten to celebrate our neighbor's 50th Birthday.

These are just some islands we flew over. How cool! I was semi-scared for my first flight over an ocean, but it turned out to be very enjoyable!

This is the Princess Julianna International Airport which we flew into from Charlotte. The airport building itself is only 2 years old. Up until then, all passengers had to claim their luggage, etc. under a roof on the tarmac.

We wasted no time in getting comfy and settling into island mode. This photo was taken from our 3rd floor balcony.
