R.T.H. to the EXTREME

Okay, now I love adventure and the outdoors, so when we started geocaching, or as I call it, "Redneck Treasure Hunting" or R.T.H., I was in my glory. My perspective on this new outdoor adventure changed a bit this week when we took it to the next level.

Karl wanted to find another cache to place the travel bug we got last week and thought this would be the best place. So he called Kyle and Ruth to meet us there. At first we thought this would be simple like all the other hunts we were on. But, no, we had to climb 40 yards up this mountainous cliff.

Ruth was the first one to find the rope (you can barely see it...it's red and black). Conner being the really adventurous boy that he is thought he'd grab hold and climb that mountain. Needless to say, it was too dangerous for him to do it so we made him stop and sent Kyle up. After calling Karl on his cell phone for directions and clues to the where abouts of the cache, he gave up. So there we all were, standing on the side of this mountain and clinging to what sturdy trees we could find so as to not slide down the mountain!

Upon further investigation, Karl ended up finding the cache which was only 10 yards to our left, not 30 yards up! Karl put the travel bug in, and Kyle took it out! (He and Ruth want to go R.T.H. next week in Arizona.)

You can see on this photo the path that we took. This was a little too much excitement for me. I like to keep my feet on solid ground.
