Until........
Karl and Kem went on an "adult male" only 4-wheeler ride that Karch just had to go on. Karl didn't really want him going along because the terrain was tricky (very steep), but he told him he had to be careful. By the time Karl and Kem got up the mountainside, Karch was only halfway up when his ATV wouldn't go any farther. It started to roll backward so Karch jumped off. When he did, the ATV started to flip down the trail. Kem saw this and told Karl, who's gut reaction was to get down to Karch ASAP knowing that he didn't want him to get trapped under the machine. (Karl didn't know Karch had jumped off and was ok.) On the way down, Karl hit a diversion ditch that sent him and the ATV flying. Karl hit a rock with his forehead and was pretty banged up, unhurt by the 4-wheeler. Karch had walked up to him, but Karl, not thinking straight, got back on his damaged ATV to get down the mountain. He quickly came upon Karch's ATV and in order not to ram into it, he tried to swerve but hit a tree. He thinks he jumped off before it hit the tree. Anyway..... our perfect day ended disasterous for man and machine. But PRAISE THE LORD Karl wasn't hurt any worse than he was!! He had a big gash on his forehead, bruised ribs and knees and scratches all over. He was one lucky dude!

Ok, so if that wasn't bad enough, Karl went to work on the cabin some more the following weekend. Conner went along, as well as my dad and brother. About 4 in the afternoon Karl calls and when I answer he said, "Keep talking to me." Well, from past experience, when Karl calls and tells me that I know he's either sick or hurt and doesn't want to pass out as he's driving. Goodness Pete! I knew he had to have done another number on himself again, and with not really wanting to know what he did to himself again I asked him the inevitable question anyway, "What'd you do now?!?!?" Long story short, he nail-gunned a nail into his right hand. NICE!!! It's not like he needs his hand for anything! So he pulled the nail out and came home....wouldn't go to the ER. At least he went to the Dr. the next morning for a tetnis shot and antibiotic.

HAHAHA I love the comment about "bruised ego as unsympathetic brother looks on" like it's a news header. Very Funny. I hope all the accidents are finished now with Conner's stitches. Good Grief!
