This was our first Christmas that we've spent away from home, although it didn't feel like Christmas to me. Since we had our family get together earlier, it just seemed like any other vacation. We left home around 4 PM Dec. 23, as soon as we got home from school. We didn't get far, only about an hour south when the truck broke down. After a 2 hour wait we were fixed and back on the road, not really knowing if we'd make it or not. We made it to our destination without any other problems and set up camp at the KOA near Orlando. It sure was different to be "camping" in December where there were palm trees! Our campsite was fantastic, right on the lake.
