You never know....

...when life is going to throw you a firey dart. Well, that happened to our neighbor, a sweet widow, just 5 evenings ago when fire trucks blared up our road and stopped infront of her house. Conner and I went out to investigate and this is what we saw.

Eventually there were about 8 fire trucks/tankers and 2 ambulances. Fortunately the ambulances weren't needed.

The fire fighters were able to keep the blaze contained to her garage, and her kitchen and attic sustained water damage. I was relieved to hear that she made it out okay and that it wasn't a total loss for her. Little did I know that at 5 AM that next morning (only 11 hours after the fire first broke out) that the humming noise I was hearing were the fire trucks back at trying to put out a fire that had rekindled. Apparently, the trucks were there as early as 3 AM. When I got home from school that day, this is what I found....

How ironic that the only thing left standing is the fire place.

A complete loss.
