Phase 2 Has FINALLY Begun!

Three years ago this past January we started remodeling our house (which was the reason for beginning this blog!). We did a MAJOR overhaul on the 1st floor back then but hadn't done anything to the 2nd floor. Well, last week we started work on Karch's room. Gone is the "little boy's" room. As I sit here and type away, there are 2 men working on improving the upstairs. They have already painted Karch's room and the hall. They have replace lighting, ripped out the horrible 1970's speckled shag carpet & painted the bathroom cabinets. Tomorrow the new carpet & linoleum will be installed. Next, we'll put Karch's room back together and find somewhere to put all the "stuff" that has been accumulating in the spare bedroom so we can begin work in there.

I'm sad to see it go, but not really!

Those of you who frequent the Carey house often know that not all of the projects we took on 3 years ago came to fruition. Many of you have given Karl a hard time about it, too! Well, you don't have to wait much longer....
Karl has finally decided that it's time to get this big baby finished! He finished installing/sanding the drywall around the stairs and ripped out the carpet. We are currently in negotiations with a company to let them install the oak treads for the stairway. WOOHOO! I will be so happy when this house gets back to normal, well, at least clean and uncluttered!
